Our workshops run throughout the year and offer you training on a wide range of subjects that affect your job as a dispenser or a pharmacy technician.
We also provide workshops and courses for primary care professionals to include: doctors, nurses, pharmacists, practice managers, and reception staff.
Our workshops are open to any dispenser or pharmacy technician or healthcare professional—You don’t have to be registered on any of our courses to attend our workshops.
Whether you have only just qualified or even if you have many years of experience, we are confident that you will find attendance at our workshops beneficial and rewarding. We award all attendees at our workshops with Professional development certificates |

· Security of patient records - What YOU need to know to maintain patient confidentiality This workshop covers practical aspects of patient confidentiality. It is aimed at anyone who deals with patient records—this includes, GP’s, pharmacists, nurses, dispensers, reception staff—for more information about this workshop or to book your place please click here.
· The Dispensing Services Quality Scheme— How to achieve the requirements of the scheme with minimum effort This workshop is aimed at dispensary and management staff in GP dispensing practices. It goes through all of the requirements of the DSQS and provides practical advice on what practices must do in order to achieve the full practice payment on the DSQS. It is run by Mohammed Ibrahim, who works as an independent consultant to GP dispensing practices and has helped many practices implement the requirements of the DSQS. · DRUM’s, SOP’s, and other DSQS requirements — The easy way to achieve your practice target—what practices must do This workshop provides a detailed insight in to DRUMS and SOP’s as required by the DSQS. It is aimed at dispensers, GP’s and management staff in GP dispensing practices. It provides practical ways of achieving the targets for DRUM’s and a full set of template SOP’s will also be provided. · Dispenser training 1 — A beginners guide This is a full day workshop aimed at dispensers who are new to the job. It will also serve as a great update for experienced dispensers. It covers the basic aspects of working as a dispenser— from understanding the different legal categories of drugs to processing NHS and private prescriptions. A summary of the law and ethics of dispensing is also covered together with how best to organise your dispensary. An overview of endorsing and managing dispensing errors. · Dispenser training 2 — Foundation workshop—tips to help streamline your dispensary and maximise your dispensary profits This is a full day workshop aimed at dispensers who are new to the job and experienced dispensers. It covers all aspects of running a dispensary from Health and Safety at Work act through to writing of SOP’s. · BNF & Drug Tariff — tips to help YOU use these reference sources to enhance your role as a dispenser This is an evening workshop and is aimed at dispensers (either dispensing doctor practices or community pharmacies) - it provides a step by step practical guide to the workings of the BNF and the Drug Tariff and how best to use them in the dispensary. · Clinical update workshops—All the latest guidance and evidence you MUST know before you prescribe or dispense for your patients Our clinical update workshops are divided in to two categories. A workshop on the basic overview of the clinical condition is aimed at dispensers; and a more in-depth workshop on the medicines management of the clinical condition is provided for healthcare professionals
